    Dr. Yan Bai leads the global monitoring of the cost and affordability of healthy diets indicators at the Development Data Group of the World Bank. He obtained his Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition Policy from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition and a master’s degree in international business and finance from Tufts University’s Fletcher School. His research combines economic and scientific methods to focus on data-driven analysis of food and nutrition security worldwide, with work published in esteemed journals such as Nature Food, Lancet Planetary Health, and Food Policy. Before pursuing his graduate education, he gained valuable industry experience as an investment analyst at global financial institutions, focusing on health and agriculture sectors.     Noora is GAIN’s Research Lead for Food Systems Governance and Inclusion and leads GAIN’s Gender Unit, which ensures GAIN programs and projects substantively integrate gender responsive and equitable activities and outcomes. Previously, Noora was an Associate Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute, where she undertook research on gender, agriculture, and food and nutrition security throughout Africa and Asia for 15 years. She holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Hohenheim University.
