unlike imagenet and deep mind I simply find it hard to see who in Natural Language Processing did what big first moves on LLM & superchat -- people keep on referring to attention is all you need paper so I think its also good to see kaiser 2017 presentation at pi-school but I guess the problem is while imagenet is one clear databank,, and something like the game of go is mathematically evident as a pattern game - what goes into LLMs apart from some selection of anything that has even been on the web isnt that easy for 99.99% of humans to explain (or differentiate between models)

Aug 1, 2023 — “OpenUSD gives 3D developers, artists, and designers the complete foundation to tackle large-scale industrial, digital content creation, and simulation workloads with broad multi-app interoperability,” said Guy Martin, Director of Open Source and Standards at NVIDIA. “This alliance is a unique opportunity to accelerate OpenUSD collaboration globally by building formal standards across industries and initiatives to realize 3D worlds and industrial digitalization.”
NVIDIA is part of the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD), which aims to extend and standardize the Universal Scene Description (USD) framework. USD is an open-source 3D scene description that's used for 3D content creation and interchange between tools. It's also known as OpenUSD. USD is an industry standard in robotics, manufacturing, architecture, visual effects, and more.

The first priority of the AOUSD is to develop a specification that describes the core functionality of OpenUSD. This will provide a recipe for tool builders to implement, encouraging adoption of the open standard across a wide range of use cases.

USD files contain data about 3D graphic elements such as the geometry and material appearance of models, animations, and virtual cameras, as well as scene layout.
